A Brief History

Our Story

Camp La-No-Che was founded in 1950 after the Central Florida Council determined their previous camp, Camp Wewa, was becoming unfit for the growing Organization. Then-Council President, Judge Don Cheney, lead the search for a new Camp Property, settling on the Gould Family Hunting Lodge on the North Shores of Lake Norris. Over the years the property has grown to encompass over 1100 acres and continues to provide top notch program for Cub Scouts, Scouts, BSA, Venturers, ROTC Units, and other Community Groups.
