Scouting is happening all around the world – there are National Scout Organizations representing their home countries and delivering the promise of Scouting in virtually all areas and regions globally. The BSA International Department works to help Scouts and Leaders from the BSA to experience the bigger picture of Scouting and connect with it through our involvement in the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
WORLD ORGANIZATION OF THE SCOUTING MOVEMENT (WOSM):
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is a confederation of 170 national Scout organizations. WOSM was formed to encourage the Scouting movement throughout the world by promoting unity and understanding of its purpose and principles and by supporting its expansion and development. Three main bodies make up the WOSM: the World Scout Conference, the World Scout Committee, and the World Scout Bureau. In addition to the three main divisions, six regional conferences and committees of the WOSM meet regularly to implement decisions and policies locally.
CFC INTERNATIONAL JAMBORETTE:
July 9 – 19, 2023 – Camp La-No-Che
Central Florida Council and Camp La-No-Che are proud to host a biennial (every-other-year) that brings together Scouts from around the globe for a 10-day experience that combines all the adventure of Scout Camp with the one-of-a-kind attractions that Central Florida is known for. Campers can attend as a Unit (Troop or Crew) or come as individual “Provisional” campers (International participants must attend as a Unit/Contingent supported by leadership from their home country). There are even 3-day options for local campers and Cub Scouts looking for an international experience to add to their summer schedule.
