Camp Operation Volunteers
Camp Operations Volunteers are the volunteers that keep the camp operating and handle emergencies which arise during our guest visits. Camp Operation volunteers lead the following operation task: Office, Health Services, Program Directors, Campfire Program Services, Aquatics Counselors, Shooting Sports Staff and Food Service Assistants. Below are the examples of the Operations Services Volunteers:
Office Assistants: Volunteer in the office during the week, summer camp or on weekends. Help greet people, answer the phone, coordinate office activities and put together program packets.
Health Services: Must be certified as a First Responder, EMT, Paramedic, Medical Student completing of second year or more, Physician's Assistant, Nurse (RN, LPN or LVN), Nurse Practitioner or a Physician. Will be available for Health Services providing first aid out of the Florida Hospital Health Lodge. As the first aid provider, you may stay in the Florida Hospital Health Lodge and also carry a two way radio for communications.
Program Directors: Program Director will be the coordinator for an upcoming program. The Program Director is the volunteer responsible for coordinating the other volunteers and make sure programs are operating at the event.
Campfire Program Services: Volunteer helps to coordinate the show equipment, set up, tear down, mc shows, plan shows and more. Also, provide other services as requested to develop best show.
Aquatics Counselors: The BSA National Standards require that Aquatics Directors are certified by National Camp School. However, many of our programs are allowed to be operated or supervised by Aquatics Counselors which have been certified by the Aquatics Director.
Shooting Sports Staff: Shooting Sports Staff has to be certified by being trained by our National Camp School Shooting Sports Director. Once you are trained by our Shooting Sports Director, you may help to operate the Shooting Ranges.
Food Service Assistants: Food Service Assistants helps to serve food during meals, keep salad bar full, soda fountain filled and general clean up helping the cooks.
